Saturday, April 24 at the Concorso at The Breakers
The K in the new car’s name refers to the Kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) which is used to maximize performance. The FXX-K was developed to give an uncompromising experience to the driver. Owners’ cars are delivered to race tracks around the world at Cora Clienti events where the owners drive their cars at speed on the track.
The hybrid powerplant used in the FXX-K has a total power output of 1,036 hp and over 664 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid car weighs in at only 2,568 lbs and produces 1,190 lbs of downforce at 124 mph. There are four driving modes to optimize the track experience: Qualify (maximum performance on short distance), Long Run (for longer distance driving), Fast Charge (for faster recharging of the battery) and Manual Boost (that maximizes output from both the engine and the electric motor).
This chassis was added to the Collection of the present owner in 2019 and has a limited exposure in Cosa Clienti events, rendering it in very original unmolested appearance. It is one of only 10 Ferrari FXX-K cars left that have not received updates to the EVO aero package. The designers were Marco Fainello and Flavio Manzoni, with a total production of 40 units.
