Award-winning 342 America at Cavallino 30

Designed by the enigmatic Giovanni Michelotti, 0232 AL was graced with his trademark panache and powered by a powerful 12-cylinder Lampredi competition-based engine. See it at Cavallino 30!

The Ferrari 342 America was conceived to represent pure luxury, Ferrari’s top-end grand touring car, displaying unprecedented amenities and style. Only six 342s were built and, of them, this s/n 0232 AL is unique, the first of only three 342 cabriolets made. The only 342 bodied by Carrozzeria Vignale, it bears an even chassis number, reserved at the time by Ferrari for competition cars.

Designed by the enigmatic Giovanni Michelotti, 0232 AL was graced with his trademark panache and powered by a powerful 12-cylinder Lampredi competition-based engine.

Imported to the United States in the late 1950’s, 0232 AL was rarely seen in public until the last few years, when it has graced the lawns of such acclaimed Concours as Pebble Beach, Villa d’Este, Concours Suisse, Chantilly and Salon Privé, winning many awards. 0232 AL is Ferrari Classiche-certified, and retains all its significant original components, all sheet metal and running gear.

0232AL is quite the historic and elegant one-off motorcar, the 116th overall road-going Ferrari built, and presents precisely as it did in 1952 when it exited Enzo Ferrari’s factory and the Turin shop of Alfredo Vignale.
